The Emerald Coast Joins the Global “Giving Tuesday” Movement with Community-Wide Campaign “Emerald Coast Gives Back”

Air Force Enlisted Leads the Charge with Local #GivingTuesday Campaign

Last year, 27 local nonprofits participated in the first #EmeraldCoastGivesBack campaign and over $12K was raised by and for local nonprofit organizations. This year’s goal is set at $25K.

#EmeraldCoastGivesBack is a local #GivingTuesday movement with the purpose of increasing public awareness of the impact local nonprofits make in addressing our community’s social challenges; bring nonprofits, donors and volunteers together; expand the idea of online giving and use social media to promote giving back; connect people to the causes that mean the most to them; and, of course, make giving back fun.

Thanksgiving. Black Friday. Small Business Saturday. Cyber Monday.

We have a day to give thanks, days to get deals, and now we have a day to give back, Giving Tuesday. #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday,

#GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. One of the best ways to get involved is in your own community. Many local nonprofits and businesses are participating in #EmeraldCoastGivesBack and are planning volunteer days, appreciation days, give back days and other events on November 28 especially for #GivingTuesday.
