CMSgt Vance C. Kondon, USAF, Ret., is the Chief Operating Officer for the Air Force Enlisted Village, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in the largest senior living community in Northwest Florida.
Prior to being selected for his current position, Kondon served two years as the Dive Center Operations Manager at Rainbow Reef Dive Center, Key Largo, Florida, the largest scuba diving company in the Western Hemisphere. In that role, he led a team of 5 customer relations staff and managed scheduling of more than 75 dive instructors on 5 dive boats to teach a large variety of diving courses and guiding more than 750 customers on Key Largo’s reefs each week.
In 2016, Kondon retired from the United State Air Force after serving more than 30 years. His assignments included bases in Missouri, Mississippi, Oklahoma, California, Texas, Idaho, the National Capital Region, and overseas assignments in Guam, Panama, Honduras and Southwest Asia. His background includes various duties in the security forces and air traffic control career fields. Kondon also served as the senior enlisted leader in numerous organizations culminating as the Command Chief Master Sergeant of Joint Base Andrews and the 11th Wing, Maryland with responsibility for over 60,000 Airmen and families in the National Capital Region and around the world.
His education includes Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies (Business and Language Studies) from Liberty University.
The mission of the Air Force Enlisted Village is to provide a home to widows of retired Airmen, mothers of active duty service members, and retired military couples. With assets totaling over $45 million, 125 acres of property, and a staff of over 100 team members, the AFEV is a unique partner in the community to include special relationships with the area’s military installations.
