This holiday season, we’d like to thank you and all of our donors, volunteers, supporters, and friends who have been an important part of our family here at the Air Force Enlisted Village.
Because of you, we have been able to provide a safe, secure home to military widows living independently at Bob Hope Village or for those residents in need of assisted living or memory support at Hawthorn House. Memory support is an increasing need by residents as they age in place and is much more costly that independent living. Most residents living in our memory support wing are in need of financial assistance simply because of the greater cost due to extra care provided.
Our Benevolent Fund helps with this burden and gives priority to widows of retired enlisted airmen who through no fault of their own find themselves in need of financial assistance.
It costs $140 per day for basic memory support expenses. This includes a private apartment, utilities, housekeeping, all meals and snacks, caring staff, memory support activities (social, music, fitness), wellness checks by nursing staff, and transportation to medical appointments with a chaperone. Many residents require additional services which increase the monthly cost of their care.
As an advocate of our Air Force family, we respectfully ask that you consider including the Air Force Enlisted Village in your year-end charitable giving. Our goal is to raise $25,000 by the end of the year to support our Benevolent Fund. $25,000 will provide one resident with nearly 6 months of care.
Cash donations are appreciated or you may donate online HERE to support the Benevolent Fund immediately.
Best wishes to you and your family for a happy and healthy holiday season and a joyous New Year.
