Congressman Matt Gaetz Visits Bob Hope Village and Hawthorn House Residents for #OpenGaetzDay
Congressman Matt Gaetz, 1st District of Florida, visited the Air Force Enlisted Village’s Hawthorn House today as part of his #OpenGaetzDay.
Upon his arrival, the congressman was greeted by AFEV President and CEO Brooke McLean, AFEV Chairman of the Board of Directors Joe Mast, and Hawthorn House Administrator Leigh Rice.
About 30 Hawthorn House and Bob Hope Village residents and their guests were waiting to visit with Gaetz in the atrium. Gaetz greeted each person and shared a few words before heading out to tour the rest of AFEV’s assisted living residence.
“The quality of care here at the Air Force Enlisted Village is better than any on the planet,” Gaetz said. “My job is to help with growth here. It concerns me that there could be people out there living in unhealthy conditions who need places like this. Places like Hawthorn House where residents’ needs always come first.”
Gaetz ended his tour with a visit to residents’ lounge where he personally greeted about a dozen residents.
