Air Force Enlisted Village Residents and Staff Receive COVID-19 Vaccines

February 4, 2021

It's Vaccine Week again at the Air Force Enlisted Village. Residents, staff, and our third-party providers are eligible to receive the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine through a partnership with Walgreens.

Helen, a Hawthorn House resident and retired nurse, received the first vaccination. Helen said she wanted to be first because she wanted to show everyone the vaccination is painless and important to take.

The first round of vaccines happened the week of January 12 at Air Force Enlisted Village. Walgreens is back three weeks later to administer the second doses.

Assisted living residents and staff at Hawthorn House received vaccines first, and vaccinations for independent living residents and staff at Bob Hope Village followed.

Air Force Enlisted Village President and CEO Brooke McLean received his vaccination after Helen. McLean said it was a step in the right direction to move forward with getting back to life with social activities.
