Air Force Enlisted Village Sets Up Hurricane Michael Emergency Relief Center at Gates Welcome Buildi

Shalimar, Florida (October 18, 2018) – The Air Force EnlistedVillage’s Bob Gates Welcome Center located at 92 Sunset Lane, Shalimar, isserving as a drop off point forsupplies to be transported to Tyndall AFB/Panama City area for victims ofHurricane Michael.  

Drop off Center Location,Dates, Times, Items being Collected

The Bob Gates Welcome Center will be open through Friday, October 26from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. to collect items. The following items are being acceptedbased on current needs:

  1. Nonperishable packaged food items
  2. Bottled water
  3. Feminine supplies and personal hygiene     items
  4. Baby wipes
  5. Boxes
  6. Coolers
  7. Bug spray
  8. Baby formula and diapers
  9. Blankets
  10. Bleach
  11. Matches
  12. Can openers
  13. Garbage bags
  14. First aid kits
  15. Flashlights and batteries
  16. Dust masks, duct tape, tarps
  17. Wrenches, pliers
  18. Pet food
  19. Paper plates, paper cups, paper     towels, plastic utensils

At this time, we cannot accept gift cards, clothing, shoes, orperishable food. Please do not drop off items when the center is closed. Needschange daily. Please check www.afev.us or www.facebook.com/AirForceEnlistedVillage for an updatedlist of items.

Monetary Donations: TheFastest and Easiest Way to Help

The fastest and easiest way to help is to make a monetary donation ofany amount at www.afev.us/help or www.afev.us/paypal. Allmonetary donations received for Hurricane Michael Emergency Relief arerestricted for hurricane relief only and will be used to purchase necessaryemergency relief items here in the local area and will be transported to the TyndallAFB/Panama City area to help all victims of Hurricane Michael.  

The Air Force Enlisted Village is partnering with the local communityand local military installations to collect and deliver items to Tyndall AFB,Panama City, and the surrounding areas devastated by Hurricane Michael.  

Target and Amazon Registries

Air Force Enlisted Village is currently working with a local militaryspouse who offered her home as a shipping destination after military spouses createdgift registries at Target and Amazon to help those in need. Air Force EnlistedVillage is picking up over 16 pallets and will deliver them to the Tyndall AFBarea. The registries will remain open through October 23, 2018 and all itemscan be shipped directly to Air Force Enlisted Village, c/o Hurricane Michael Relief,92 Sunset Lane, Shalimar, FL 32579:
