Because of you, residents can continue activities without feeling socially isolated
Because our independent living residents expect to stay active while socializing with friends, Bob Hope Village residents have been enjoying the usual summer activities while social distancing and wearing face coverings.
Residents are enjoying corn hole games, bike riding, and water aerobics, but social distancing is the key. That means more offerings of activities with fewer participants per activity. It also means thinking outside the box to keep residents engaged.
The Village’s activities department continues to come up with summer fun for everyone. That means food trucks have been visiting on the weekends, and our café has hosted a shrimp and corn boil. And, Bob Hope Village had its first ever Memorial Day parade with vehicles from nearby Eglin AFB and Hurlburt Field, a motorcycle club, and classic car club. Residents stood near their doorways or stepped out to the street to wave to the parade participants.
The current pandemic didn’t stop summer at Bob Hope Village. Everyone enjoyed activities including corn hole, food trucks, and a parade while social distancing outdoors.
