Hawthorn House Residents Cool Off with a Visit from an Ice Cream Truck

September 21, 2020

You give the gift of joy to residents quarantining during the pandemic

Hawthorn House residents and staff were treated to a special guest to beat the summer heat. Yes, the ice cream truck stopped by with cool treats for all to enjoy! Residents enjoyed visiting the truck to select their favorite ice cream.

The truck provided a bit of nostalgia for many residents. We’re pretty sure residents and staff were all smiling underneath their face coverings.

Florida has opened after quarantining for a couple of months, yet Hawthorn House remains closed to visitors according to the governor of Florida’s recommendations for assisted living facilities during the coronavirus pandemic.

Residents and their family members and friends have been visiting virtually through video conferencing.

Your gifts bring sweet treats and joy to assisted living residents who have been quarantining.

Extensive cleaning and sanitizing continue at Hawthorn House, and staff are being tested for coronavirus on a regular basis to keep residents safe.

Residents’ health and safety are our top priorities; however, everyone can enjoy some ice cream while social distancing!
