Scheduled Transportation Ensures Independence for Residents

February 25, 2021

Because of you, residents have worry-free and safe transportation

As people age, they often give up driving; yet, it is the freedom that they miss the most. Having access to regularly scheduled transportation gives residents the independence they desire, with the safety they require. Bob Hope Village and Hawthorn House residents have access to scheduled bus service, for transportation to and from medical appointments, prescription pickups, shopping trips, and other activities.

Last year, our busy drivers picked up 5,751 prescriptions for residents, and they drove residents 73,056 miles to and from medical appointments, shopping trips, and activities.

And, while our drivers enjoy taking residents to and from their medical appointments or driving the bus to the local commissaries for shopping trips, we have plenty of parking available for those who continue to drive.
