Update Letter to Our Neighbors

Dear Neighbors,

I trust this letter finds you and your families doing well. Your next door neighbors here at the Air Force Enlisted Village are doing very well considering the circumstances of the global COVID-19 health emergency.

I wrote to you on March 11, 2020 and told you about the precautionary measures we had in place to, hopefully, ward off the virus. As you can imagine, things have dramatically and radically changed around the globe, and we, subsequently, have tightened up our precautionary measures. First and foremost is the health, welfare, and security of our residents, and I am happy to report the AFEV campus has had no instances of COVID-19.

Holding the virus at bay is largely due to the measures my team put in place to screen everyone coming onto the campus and restricting visitors to essential services only. Key to this is the discipline of our residents and staff to self-quarantine (when necessary), practice social distancing, and remaining safe at home. These measures have been crucial to keeping COVID-19 away from our residents and off the campus. While we are not out of the woods yet, we are cautiously optimistic the worst is behind us.

For our part, we will remain vigilant and continue to look for opportunities to reinforce our restrictions as we try to remain one step ahead in a dynamic situation.

Thank you for your continued support, and, as always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about what we are doing regarding COVID-19. We remain committed to being good neighbors, and we are looking forward to returning to normal operations as soon as the situation allows.

Sincerely,

Brooke P. McLean, CMSgt, USAF, Ret.President and CEO
